 National Rugby League Tsunami Visit to Samoa

The week before Christmas 2009 a number of NRL players and professional surfers traveled to the tsunami torn area in Samoa. Their aim for the trip was to put a smile on every persons face, to give them hope and to let them know that the League and Surfing community, cared. They achieved all this and much much more. The group consisted of Nigel Vagana, Roy Asotasi, Wendell Sailor, Andrew Johns( League), Zahn Foxton, Dylan Longbottom, Michael lowe (Pro surfer), Tommy Herschell (Surf Journalist) Nick Walshaw( Sydney Daily Telegraph) and Craig Tuffin (Photographer). Oxygen Factory also played a role in this trip by donating 100 copies of Get Your Hopes Up to teens within the community.

Crohn's and Colitis Australia

Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis affect more than 61,000 Australians. Crohn's and Colitis Australia™ supports the Crohn's and Colitis community with a focus on confidential support programs including education, advocacy, counselling, increasing awareness and generating and utilising funds for research. Glen has been privileged to share his own journey of living with Ulcerative Colitis with children and families affected by this disease through this incredible organisation. Beyond Water
At the start of 2009 Glen Gerreyn became an ambassador for charity: water, a non-profit organisation that provides clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of the money raised goes direct to projects, funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need. They also work to raise awareness of the water crisis through events, fundraising exhibitions and other public awareness campaigns. Glen believes in aiding the local and wider community as much as possible and this is why he is now supporting the organisation of charity: water. MYLFMitchell Youth Leadership Forum

The Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum is a programme dedicated to exposing future leaders to exceptional current leaders and exploring the core leadership values of service to others, integrity and courage. The Forum was founded by former Federal Member for Mitchell, Alan Cadman, who wanted to help young people to better cope with the pressures of their final year at school. World Vision

KYDS

Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service

The Ku-ring-gai Youth Development Service provides free and confidential counselling on an individual basis for 12 to 18 years old young people living on Sydney’s North Shore. They also provide free counselling and support for parents as well as family counselling, where the young person and their counsellor feel this to be appropriate. KYDS counsellors use evidence based approaches such as Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy.
